Rehearsal Aids – 2025/26

Voice Part Rehearsal Files
Navigation with this link will lead to a privately shared location containing a folder for each musical piece. Within the folder for the musical piece, further folders may be found for each voice part. The individual mp3 voice files can be played directly via your browser or downloaded to a local device.
[The Dvorak Credo is in two audio files: file ‘3a’ is up to letter ‘H’, and file ‘3b’ begins 4 bars before letter ‘H’.]

Please note, these files are available courtesy of the John Fletcher Music Rehearsal Files website which is a database including thousands of music rehearsal files, many of which are free to access.

For details of JF and other sources of rehearsal aids, see Useful Links page of NCVC website.

If there are any problems with accessing any files, please contact Robert Wheatley via email at website.adm@btinternet.com or in person at rehearsals.

Note on performance of Dvorak Mass in D
Dvořák was commissioned to compose the mass by the architect and patron Josef Hlávka for the inauguration of the chapel that he had built for his summer residence in Lužany. The work was composed between March and June 1887.
Because of the size of the chapel, the choir had to be small, and no orchestra was possible.

The video above is of a small choir which, I think, helps the untrained ear to hear the separate voices more distinctly.
